Vasan Eye care: Operation Day

On the operation day, I had a small breakfast and started early to the hospital along with my friend. Reached there by 10.00 sharp. Again they have done regular eye checkup with various lens for confirmation. In mean while, doctor fed my eye readings which were taken on previous day into the zyoptix machine. Actually they copy the reading into a floppy and input it to lasik machine. Then after 15 min. I was called into the operation room. I was a bit tensed but tried to keep stay calm. I was dressed  in a gown with hand blouses and socks. Doctor instructed to keep relaxed and simply follow her during operation. I was moved to op-bed and the lasik instrument with a light was headed above my eyes. The most imp. thing is you should not move during op. Especially when the laser beam was fired. You have to stay calm and follow their instructions. The op. is just a 15 min. procedure. You ll not feel any pain at any moment. Just they remove the top thin layer a bit and pass the laser for a min. and gently place the layer on eye. For each eye max. 5 minutes it ll take.
Lasik procedure on op.day:
Step 1:
Do Head wash as head wash is not recommended for atleast 15 days after the op. Stay clean. Dont use perfumes or any make up.
Step 2:
Have a small breakfast and be on time at the hospital. As many op. ll be scheduled on the same day, it ll be difficult for the doctors to arrange the slot for u later.
Step 3:
Stay calm and enter the op. theater. They ll sterilize ur hands and foot and put eye drops. Keep it atleast for 2-3 min. Dress up urself. Dont tighten that gown on ur body. Keep ur mind calm and follow doctor's instructions.
Step 4:
You ll be headed to op. bed. Just relax on bed with out moving. They ll adjust ur head position firmly. The laser instrument ll be headed above ur eyes. Just focus on the Light.
Step 5:
Doc. ll cleanup ur eyes with liquid and put eye drops. And a machine called microkeratome is used for for removing top thin layer. Again eye drops ll be placed and wiped.Then  u ll be asked to look at the red color laser light.This is the imp. thing for lasik success. Just focus on that red. light and dont shake ur head. Just keep it straight and focus on the light .Its a matter of one minute. Dont blink the eye at this moment.
Step 6:

After some 5 to 15 rounds of laser shoot on eye, the thin layer which was removed earlier ll be put back and again drops ll be place. Same procedure for second eye also.
Step 7 :
After operation ur eyes ll be examined to check for any abnormality. Protection glasses ll be given to wear. Use it immediately and take rest for some time by closing eyes. Dont use pressure on eye lids after closing eyes. Just for half an hour stay relaxed and dont open eyes. Dont dare to touch them

Step 8: Collect ur eye drop medicines. After that u can go home by cab preferably as air pollution may interfere with ur eye healing if u use public transport. Dont remove ur protection glasses atleast on op. day. Keep it while sleeping also.Atleast for 3 days it is advisable to keep them on eyes. 90% of the operations fail due to our mistakes on first day. Dont touch eyes and dont remove protection glasses even if doc. says to remove them. Just come home and take small lunch and sleep for 6 hrs atleast with glasses.

Vasan Eye care Review:

As I am working in bangalore, I visited HRBR layout vasan eye care branch. Here every thing is systematic. As usual they conducted pre lasik eligibility check up for free of cost. Dr. Sanghamitra is the lasik specialist here. They have two packages.1.Basic- 30K rs. 2.Advanced- 55K rs. Zyoptix is the technology. I opted for advanced lasik which was scheduled on next week. On the operation day, I was taken to Jaya nagar branch where that lasik equipment is available. There some more tests are to be conducted which requires to take my eye pupil measurements. But my pupil is too small to measure those readings with out dilation procedure.But with dilation, lasik operation cant be done on the same day. So they took measurements and postponed the op for next week.

I was searching for perfect lasik surgery that is fit both for my eye and my pocket. I visited many hospitals like maxivision, LV Prasad, Vasan eye care... Now i ll review these here:
1.Maxivision : The no.1 in lasik operations. First to introduce femto laser and having vast network in A.P. Though costly they have advanced equipment with professional staff. Blade lasik is available at many cities in A.P but blade less is at only hyderabad. The pre check up is normally free if u carry the add in news papers. Otherwise they charge from 1500-2500rs for this. Even if u dont have newspaper cutout, just pursue with local staff as they may assist u to get it done for free. The lasik charges varies from 20k to 2 lakhs. They may tempt you to go for advanced lasik but be sure to have second opinion on this. Coming to my case, first my pre- check up was done at dilshuknagar branch. They gave green signal as my eye cornea thickness is quite enough for any lasik. Later I went to main branch at begumpet for the operation. Before operation they have done some more tests  to evaluate our eye’s cornea thickness, cornea surface, pupil diameter, dryness, exact spectacle power etc. Unfortunately a ratio parameter (inner to outer bla..bla) is slightly more for me, which made me ineligible for lasik. They suggested me to go for ICL, in which an implant lens will be inserted in cornea. As its out of budget for me, I opted out.

2.LV Prasad: I went to vizag branch. The staff are not cordial. I heard about lot of re-lasik cases. Monthly twice they conduct lasik. Only one variety is available there. It costs you 29000.
